5 Places in Kolkata to satisfy your sugar rush!!

There’s this consistent urge inside all of us to make our lives as sweet as possible. While tasting sweets may not be all there is to do to bring that about, it is hard to conceive of a joyful life without satiating our sweet cravings every now and then. These 5 places will help you just do that!!

1.       Hot chocolate at Mrs Magpie: This place has always been close to my heart, courtesy the cupcakes and the cute and painstakingly detailed decor, with a dollhouse theme! The mini cupcakes are heavenly, especially the nutty praline, but the hot chocolate is off the scale and made with real chocolate; it's so thick and is undoubtedly the best hot chocolate that is served in Kolkata.

2.       Belgian Waffles at Piccadilly Square: Bang opposite Hindustan Club on Sarat Bose Road, this charming little bistro has tried to recreate the London street cafe atmosphere, with the street lamp replicas and the name. Although it is a little expensive, the Belgian Waffles are worth the money!

3.       Pancakes at Biker’s Café : This place is probably heaven for all the bike lovers! Although this place too fares on the pricier side, I'd still pinch my pocket a little for the soft pancakes loaded with choco syrup and whipped cream.

4.       Red Velvet Cheesecake at Paris Café: One of those cafes in Kolkata which is a must visit, not just for its quaint Parisian ambiance but also for the food, and the crowd. I can vouch for their red velvet cheesecake with 2 layers of red velvet, a layer of cheesecake inside- topped with cream cheese frosting.

5.       Crème Brûlée Cupcake at The Rouge: The Crème Brûlée cupcake is an assoc cupcake topped with custard covered in a hard caramel layer, and one has to crack the caramel with a tap of the spoon like in a real Crème Brûlée. The Rouge is undoubtedly the perfect place to satisfy one's sugar rush cravings.

Whether you have a sweet tooth or not hardly matters. One look at these will definitely melt your heart and your taste buds!
